Wind & Water turbines

Wind turbines
With vertical axis wind turbines you can make your own energy choice and ensure your energy is provided by 100% clean, renewable energy. Quieter than a human whisper, it can be installed on a tower, on a roof or just about anywhere. Our wind turbines are designed to comfortably power an Australian home when the wind average is over 16km/ph. Our focus is on providing high performance, high quality, and attractive products to customers around the world at an affordable cost. Vertical axis wind turbines are different from traditional wind turbines in that their main axis is perpendicular to the ground. Their configuration makes them ideal for both rural and urban settings and offers the owner an opportunity to offset the rising cost of electricity and to preserve the environment.
There are many advantages of vertical axis wind turbines (VAWTs):
- VAWTs are not affected by the direction of the wind which is useful in areas where the wind changes direction frequently or quickly.
- Unlike traditional horizontal axis wind turbines no mechanism is needed to turn the wind turbine towards the wind.
- Because of this, VAWTs outperform horizontal axis turbines in areas where a tall tower isn't feasible, obstacles are nearby, or the wind is more turbulent.
- VAWTs are better able to harvest turbulent air flow found around buildings and other obstacles; situations more common in the real world.
- VAWTs are ideal for both rural and urban applications including roof top installations.
- Depending on the roof's shape, wind flow over the roof may even be concentrated leading to an increased energy output.
- Simple to install and maintain.
- Quiet operation.
- Pleasant appearance.

Water turbines (EnCurrent)
The EnCurrent Hydro Turbines harnesses the energy of moving water witout the need for dams, barrages, or penstocks, and is very easy to install. The features and benefits:
• generates electricity with no greenhouse gas emissions
• harnesses the energy of moving water
• minimal civil works required for installation
• low fish mortality rate - open design and slow rotational speed
• grid connection or standalone operation
• permanent magnet generator allows the turbine to run at peak performance in a wide range of water flows
• drive train and generator is positioned above the waterline for system longevity and ease of maintenance
• safety brake fro high water flows or low power conditions
• wetted material made of aluminium or coated steel
Applications:
• installs easily into control waters such as irrigation and engineered canals
• installation onto a floating platform for sites with varying water levels
• multi-directional operation allows for installation into tidal currents
